When it rains, the rain travels across the ground into storm sewers and ditches. As it travels, the rain takes everything in its path along with it. The rain, pollutants, and debris end up in area waters untreated!
Algae blooms and water pollution are linked to stormwater. When fertilizers, automobile oils, and pet waste get washed away after a storm, these pollutants end up in our rivers and lakes. natural elements like grass clippings and leaves also contribute because they contain nutrients that can lead to algae blooms and fish kills in our local waters.
